UK telephone numbers

Search UK landlines, mobile numbers, freephone and non-geographic numbers. Formats with spaces, brackets, +44 or 0044 are normalised to one number page.

Understanding common UK prefixes

  • 01 and 02: geographic numbering ranges. An area code describes the allocation, not proof of a caller’s actual location.
  • 03: non-geographic numbers used by organisations across the UK.
  • 07: includes mobile, personal numbering and paging ranges.
  • 080: freephone ranges. Other 08 and 09 ranges may carry different charges; check your provider before returning an unfamiliar call.

Look up an area code

The UK area-code directory uses Ofcom numbering information. It does not identify private subscribers or establish who actually placed a call.

For an unknown call, search the full number, read the report dates and details, and consider that numbers can be reassigned or spoofed. Check a caller safely.
